We believe that every person should have the chance to learn and thrive through music

Making Tracks has a full programme of activity tailored to help young people take the next steps into their future.

Throughout the year we team up with leading Festivals to offer young people the opportunity to perform to thousands of Bristol’s music loving crowds, including showcases at Bristol Harbour Festival, Bristol Pride and St Paul’s Carnival as well as our own annual event Garden Party.

We make sure that young people have the opportunity to experience and gain skills in music making, offering the opportunity to meet touring artists for industry Q&A’s and attending industry insight days as well as gaining accredited qualifications.

We know that the best type of learning is done in collaboration with others, especially those who the programme directly involves.

With the help of Rising Arts Agency our youth board, made up of young people who take part in Making Tracks, advise on the project alongside developing leadership skills and presenting their own live music events.

When young people have progressed through Making Tracks we work with partners and other organisations in Bristol to help young people re-engage with school, find internships, work placements, employment opportunities or to go onto higher and further education.

We work in partnership with pupil referral units, schools and organisations to provide regular support.

Some of the organisations we work with are:

• NHS Bristol and South Glos Mental Health Early Intervention Team

• Catch 22 who supported YP who are involved with criminal or gang activity

• St Matthias Park School - Pupil referral unit

• Bristol Futures Academy who support young people experiencing social anxiety

• Bristol Hospital Education Service who offer support to young people experiencing mental health issues

• Options / Evolve who work with young people with Autism

• WECIL who work with adults with disabilities
