As part of our Catalyst Evolve grant from Arts Council England, Trinity has been working to develop our systems, to improve how we let people know about the events, gigs, and projects at the centre.

Our team have been working behind the scenes to implement a brand new, bespoke, in-house CRM and ticketing system, so that people can get access to the things they want and buy tickets directly from us.

In line with our Free Software policy, our system has been developed using Open Source platform CiviCRM.

Now, you can sign up to our mailing list, create a user account, buy tickets and manage your own preferences and choose the things that you want to hear about.

The system also means that people can easily join up to be a Member of Trinity Centre or give a donation. All data is still kept safe and secure in line with our Privacy Policy.

About CiviCRM

Our team - Ben Green, Dave Chedgy , Christian Wach, Sean Kenny and Helen Curry - have worked hard to develop and implement our new CiviCRM system. This platform follows our ethos of having open source and free software that everyone can access.

We will be sharing our processes and code as part of this project, with the hope that other community arts organisation can develop their own systems that are affordable and adaptable (you can find out more about that here).

Trinity talk at Bristol's first IT MegaMeet

Trinity's in-house Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) guru Ryan Northey will be giving a talk at UWE's IT conference this May.

The conference is aimed at bringing together IT developer and community groups to showcase their activities to the student and business communities.

The conference is of interest to anyone who works with IT or wants to work in that industry.

Ryan will be talking about the work that we do at Trinity and our use of FOSS and about developing applications for Android using the python programming language. The talk will also touch on sensory augmentation, artificial intelligence and "Natural User Interfaces".

Foyer to adopt new Linux system

Trinity is working with Bristol Foyer - a supported housing project for people aged 16-25 - to help re-establish an IT training suite within the facility.

Foyer have welcomed the idea of a Linux training suite, allowing young people to access to multi-media software such as music production and graphics packages.

Up until recently, the Foyer's IT suite had largely utilised licensed software, but the suite was unable to be maintained and had become defunct. The new Linux training suite will offer inexpensive alternatives to licensed packages, allowing for more provision for support and training around the system.

They will be getting an upgraded network, 10 upgraded existing machines a new dual head high-spec media station, staff training and some taster courses for residents.

We hope that this will be the start of a strong partnership for the benefit of young people in our community.
