Flyte is the project of English songwriters Will Taylor and Nick Hill.

The pair met at secondary school in Hackney, London. Taylor's parents were both English teachers and inevitably, various literary influences trickled into the duo's music known for their crafted and often confessional song writing style.

London’s famous Konk Studios, to record their most confident and collaborative work to date. The latest self titled album, inspired by Taylor’s relationship with partner and artist Billie Marten, explores love in all its early forms and features artists such as Laura Marling, Bombay Bicycle Club and M Field.

Born to a Nigerian mother and Senegalese father, Camara Onono’s influences span from Nahawa Doumbia to Marvin Gaye. After playing with Afro-Venezuelan and jazz groups, he formed Balimaya Project in 2019. The 16-piece band mixes cultural nuances, bridging African and diasporic sounds.

Their debut album Wolo So and follow-up When The Dust Settles explore collective polyrhythms, emotional themes, and personal stories, capturing the journey of Black identity and community in the diaspora.

They had an international top 20 hit with their single "Connected" and a UK top 20 hit with "Step It Up".

The single proved to be the launching pad for a run that saw 14 hit singles and 6 albums follow on from it. 

From thereon, the band, made up of brothers Mark & Scott Morriss alongside Adam Devlin and Eds Chesters, enjoyed considerable UK and Ireland successes, extending out across into Europe and Japan, before taking a hiatus in 2011 that lasted for 4 years. 
2024 saw the band release the first new Bluetones material in 14 years, culminating in a packed out tour across the UK. In 2025, the promise of new music continues, as the band gear up to release more Bluetones joy into the world, alongside a huge tour, taking in some of the prominent cities and towns in the land.

]]> No publisher <object object at 0x7faffd6c2580> music Live Music 2025-03-05T10:00:00Z Event An evening with Belly https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/whats-on/2025/an-evening-with-belly Celebrating 30 years of the iconic record 'King' Formed in 1991 by Tanya Donelly (formerly of Throwing Muses and theBreeders) with brothers Thomas and Christopher Gorman (formerly of Verbal Assault), Belly became known for a blend of spirited guitar rock, countrified pop and Donelly’s haunting lyrics and voice.

King introduced Belly’s more collaborative song writing model, with several tracks co-written by Donelly, Greenwood, and Tom Gorman. King was recorded live at Nassau Studios in the Bahamas with producer Glyn Johns, and was engineered by Jack Joseph Puig. The album was an exciting fusion of alt-rock, dream-pop, and shimmering folk influences.

Following a hugely successful debut Australian tour in 2024, The Saints ’73-’78 will make their UK debut this November.

Featuring founding Saints members, guitarist Ed Kuepper and drummer Ivor Hay alongside honorary Saints; singer Mark Arm of Seattle rockers Mudhoney, former The Birthday Party / Bad Seeds guitarist Mick Harvey and bassist Peter Oxley of Australia’s legendary Sunnyboys, The Saints ’73 -’78 carry on where the original band left off in 1978 performing the material from their three incendiary albums (I’m) Stranded (1977), Eternally Yours (1978) and Prehistoric Sounds (1978).
