<p>Can you help them on their journey? There’ll be excitement, adventure, play-acting, games, music, a splattering of silliness and lots of snow!</p>
<p>Led by The Last Baguette theatre company, A Winter’s Tail is a fun, relaxed play-along theatre adventure.</p>
<p>Expect to play, move, watch and laugh.</p>
<p>The show lasts 1 hour including a stay and play session, and is created for ages 2+ and their grown-ups.</p>

<p>Check out our free and affordable activities to take part in as part of our Summer programme of activity.</p>
<p><strong>Meet the Unicorn</strong></p>
<p>Head down to Trinity and uncover a <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/about/news/latest-news/unicorn-fest" class="internal-link">mystical unicorn</a> as part of this yrs city-wide arts trail that is raising money for Leukaemia Care, the UK's leading leukaemia charity. Trinity’s unicorn, named 'Silence Provokes', has been painted by Bristol-based artist Emma Blake-Morsi. People can visit the Unicorn during opening hours (9am-5pm Monday - Friday) and most weekends. However, as Trinity is an active community space, we do apologise but access may be restricted to the site during day parties or wedding.</p>
<p><strong>Explore Somali Culture</strong></p>
<p><strong>A</strong><strong>s part of Playable City we are hosting 'The House Of Weaving Songs' (07 July-09 July) an outdoor interactive artistic installation celebrating Somali culture featuring 360 audio and tapestry.  Click <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/whats-on/2023/the-house-of-weaving-songs" class="internal-link">here</a> to find out more.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Nature and Play</strong></p>
<p>Throughout the Summer we are teaming up with Central Bristol Children's centre for 'Stay and Play' for 0yrs-11yrs (and their grown ups). These sessions, on Friday's, will offer nature and play activities - for free. We will be also running a cafe where you can buy hot drinks and healthy snacks. <p><strong>Family Theatre and Picnics </strong></p>
<p>Following the success of The Ash the Oak and the Standing Stones early this year we have again teamed up with Tidel Tales Collective to bring another magical show <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/whats-on/2023/the-hare-the-moon-and-the-river" class="external-link">The Hare, the Moon and the River Picnic Series</a> (18 Aug). Come along - and bring a picnic.</p>
<p><b>Arts Workshops</b></p>
<p>We've got a selection of community-focused arts workshops running at Trinity throughout the summer.</p>
<p>During July and August Newtown residents are invited to take part in free <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/whats-on/2023/mandala-painting-in-newtown" class="external-link">community painting sessions</a> where you can take part in a mandala painting activity. Hosted by Brick Project CIC the sessions will run between 5:00pm-7:00pm - the meeting point is located just across the Clarence Road, which is next to the Trinity Centre.</p>
<p>Starting on 17 July we have <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/whats-on/2023/creative-wellbeing-workshops" class="external-link">Creative Wellbeing Workshops</a> at Trinity, delivered in partnership with Age UK Bristol and Alive Activities. Take part in free in art, crafts, and activities as well as learning ways to look after your wellbeing, while exploring ways to unwind and relax. These drop in sessions are open to everyone.  Age UK and Alive Activities would particularly like to welcome Refugees and Asylum Seekers aged 50+, as well as locals living close to the Trinity Centre</p>
<p>On 21 July we will have an <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/whats-on/2023/artwork-design-workshop" class="external-link">Artwork Design Workshop</a> with artist Molly Mural. This is a creative workshop and help design a new public artwork for Stapleton Road, drawing inspiration from local culture, history, and community values you will be able to use various techniques. <p><strong>Community Cafes</strong></p>
<p>Starting on Weds 19 July we are inviting our key community partners to 'take over' The Den and Garden for the afternoon. We will be welcoming key community partners such as <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/community-kickstart/news-items/newtown" class="external-link">Newtown Network</a> to host activities and celebrate the work that they do. We will provide free hot and cold drinks as well as healthy snacks.</p>
<p><strong>Day Parties &amp; Weddings</strong></p>
<p>During the summer months (July-Sep) we will be hosting full-site Days parties. These are for 14+ (under 16's must be accompanied by an adult). <p><span class="discreet">Everybody Dance Now - Dance Connect Residency at Filwood Community Centre</span></p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph"><strong>Moving Bristol </strong>(2020 – 2021) was a partnership project with leading Dance Producer, <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/ignite/news/deborah-baddoo" class="internal-link">Deborah Baddoo</a>, supporting the development of dance across Bristol.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">Over two years, Trinity supported four paid artist residencies, embedding practitioners in a range of grassroots sevices and community arts and health settings, to explore new ways of collaborative working.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">We welcomed a total of 2756 participants across 61 workshops, focus groups, meetings and performances, both online and in-person. Alongside this, the project supported 69 artists paid work opportunities. The learnings from the project were embedded into <i>Thriving Communities </i>a year-long cross-sector partner project. <p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">Artist Lerato Dunn worked with Southmead Development Trust to develop <i>Wellbeing Moves</i> a project that explored a dance on prescription model.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">Dance organisation The Original Spinners worked with Fresh Arts supporting the recovery of elderly and frail patients through working on dementia wards.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">These residencies explored different ways in which dance can be used in health settings to improve wellbeing. This included targeted work with those experiencing life-limiting illnesses. Activities were co-designed by artists, service users and delivery staff.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">Penny Caffrey and Helen Wilson collaborated with Filwood Community Centre to create <i>Everybody Dance Now</i> to promote a positive sense of place within communities.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">Artist and Producer Katy Noakes collaborated with Knowle West Media Centre to develop a new contemporary dance piece 'Shuffle'.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">These residencies explored ways that dance can be used to create a sense of place, community and belonging.</p>

<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">Producer Deborah Baddoo worked with participatory dance artists Helen Wilson, Julia Thorneycroft, Gather Up and Raquel Meseguer to develop cross-sector collaborations with target community, health and education services.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW48711762 Paragraph">Connecting with venues The Trinity Centre, Creative Youth Network and Arnolfini, the artists established an active youth-dance network, produced and delivered a citywide <i>Dance and Health Conference</i> in November collaborated with venues to explore and understand how to break down barriers for people taking part in dance activities.</p>

<p class="BCX0 SCXW243116014 Paragraph">Following on from the success of <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/ignite/news/bristol-dance-stage-2019" class="external-link">2019’s Bristol Dances</a> stage we have reached out across the city to give audiences a taste of the wide-ranging professional, community and cultural dance Bristol has to offer.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW243116014 Paragraph">Over two days audiences will experience the breadth of dance in the city from Irish Dancing to Bharathnatyam Dance to Voguing. Highlights include DMAC's Afrikan Dance, Drumming, Indigenous Storytelling &amp; Capoeira Angola, performances from award-winning dance troupes, HYPE and Miss Daisy’s and Decolonising Memory: Digital Bodies In Movement.</p>

Enjoy samba-inspired drumming and dance troupe, Bristol Samba and acoustic performances from Aisha Ali, Bemudian folk artist Anna Colette and Portuguese neo-soul singer Luna Kali.</p>

<p class="BCX0 SCXW97977943 Paragraph">For the festival we curated a jam-packed slot featuring keynotes and panel discussions to reflect the power and benefits of arts; personally, socially, and economically. St Pauls Carnival Executive Director LaToyah McAllister-Jones, Bristol Ideas Acting Director Naomi Miller and Knowle West Media Centre CEO Carolyn Hassan used their unique experience to discuss ways to democratise decision making and build ownership of arts and culture.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW97977943 Paragraph">Gritty Talent Founder and CEO Melanie Rodrigues and TV industry consultant and specialist discussed the regional role of Bristol as a city of culture and its relationship to creative industries. Comedian and Writer Angie Belcher discussed arts for health &amp; well-being whilst Quartet Community Foundation CEO Suzanne Rolt led a keynote on art for learning and social change</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW97977943 Paragraph">The programme also featured performances from City Poet Caleb Parkin, Hype Dance, Desperate Men, Edson Burton, Sheila Hannon and Lottie Ball - all showcasing Bristol's rich cultural offer.</p>

<p class="BCX0 SCXW220245293 Paragraph">Lullabies, created by multi-disciplinary artist Roxana Vilk, reached out and connected with communities across Bristol, recording and collecting songs from the many people who call Bristol home.</p>

<p class="BCX0 SCXW220245293 Paragraph">Initially developed during an<a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/artists/news/profile-roxana-vilk" class="internal-link"> IGNITE</a> residency the project was selected to be part of the national project <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/ignite/news/here-a-now" class="internal-link">Here and Now</a> to celebrate the National Lottery 25th Anniversary. Initially, Roxana worked with partners deliver song and music workshops in local community centres. However, due to the impact of the pandemic Roxana moved these workshops online meaning her project began to connect with people across the world.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW220245293 Paragraph">Roxana used the sounds and stories of the people taking part in the project to influence the project. This saw a one person who initially took part in a workshop became a collaborator, helping in the delivery of the music-based workshops.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW220245293 Paragraph">To celebrate Lullabies, Roxana staged a two day Trinity take over. She collaborated with tech-creatives Squidsoup to create an immersive, interactive performance inspired by the Lullabies journey with movement from dancers Delicia and Marianna, Real World Studios, Arron Hussain.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW220245293 Paragraph">Bristol-based illustrator, Jasmine Thompson created portraits of some the families who took part in Lullabies exhibited and outside in the garden DJ’s staged a Baby Rave for the youngest members of our communities (plus their grownups).</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW220245293 Paragraph">Roxana is further developing her creative practice working with Bristol and Bath Creative R+D to further explore the Lullabies Project and is developing an ‘Adaptative Podcast’ with brand new technology featuring the co-creators Lullabies.</p>
<p class="BCX0 SCXW220245293 Paragraph">Projects like Lullabies are at the heart of Trinity’s commitment to artistic development.  We offer <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/ignite/news/co-creating-with-communities" class="internal-link">paid commissions</a> to artists to develop work in <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/ignite/news/supporting-creative-communities" class="internal-link">collaboration with communities</a> as well as artist residencies, free/subsided hire for R&amp;D and producer and marketing support.</p>

<p>Join Annette Curtains aka Tom Marshman and her glamorous friend and neighbour, Mariana Trench, for a live and in-person screening of the camp classics - with performance interventions, disruptions and surprises!</p>
<p><strong>About Muriel's Wedding</strong></p>
<p>Socially awkward Muriel Heslop wants nothing more than to get married. Unfortunately, due to her oppressive politician father, Muriel has never even been on a date. Ostracized by her more socially adept friends, Muriel runs into fellow outcast Rhonda Epinstalk, and the two move from their small Australian town to the big city of Sydney, where Muriel changes her name and begins the arduous task of redesigning her life to match her fantasies reminding us of the importance of transformation and chosen families.<br /><br /><strong>About Tom Marshmam</strong></p>
<p>Tom Marshman (Annette Curtain) is a Bristol based queer artist, having worked in cabaret, theatre and live art for over 20 years, he was recently appointed the Strike a light - Let artist be artists post.<br /><br /><strong>About Mariana Trench </strong></p>
<p>Mariana Trench is deep, mysterious and responsible for the disappearance of several amateur divers. She is one of Bristol’s most in demand performers, with quick wit and enough talent to blow not only your socks off, but your whole outfit.</p>
