<p>Trinity Centre welcome<a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/ignite" class="internal-link"> IGNiTE</a> associate artist: <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/ignite/commissions-residencies/residencies-2017/ella-mesma" class="internal-link">Ella Mesma Company</a> for a week long residency from 15 - 20 Apr.</p>
<p>As part of their residency the company invite you to join them each morning for an open dance and movement workshop (Mon - Fri,10am - 11.30am).</p>
<p>EMC have a unique movement language using a range of techniques such as contemporary dance, contact work from partner dances (such as salsa, tango, kizomba), breaking, Afro-Latin and Latin folkloric dances, capoeira and aerial dance. In these workshops you will use elements from the series of seven workshops for dance artists and dance lovers called the “HOME Series”, inspired by the chakra system and created on the dance company.</p>

<p><strong>About EMC</strong></p>
<p>EMC are a British based dance theatre company who use folk dances in a contemporary context to allow transformation: telling personal and global and stories and connecting to our truest selves. The company strive to undo limiting beliefs, explore healing and celebrate cultural and social identity using dance and theatre. With a mix of dance forms, circus and theatre, the work is bold, political and personal.<br />Cost: £4 + booking fee per class or £15 + booking fee for the week.</p>

<p>A playful and gentle dance movement class specifically designed for people living with Parkinson’s. Bring your partner or carer along to join in too. All welcome, no previous dance experience required, just a willingness to have fun!</p>
<p>The classes are lead by Dancers from The Original Spinners who are trained to deliver dance to people living with Parkinson’s and currently lead sessions at Southmead Hospital.</p>

<p>The West of England Centre for Inclusive Living (<a href="http://www.wecil.co.uk/">WECIL</a>) is holding monthly Creative Challenges at Trinity on the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">last Thursday of every month</span>.</p>
<p>Creative Challenges are short creative tasks that help everyone become more creative! Each challenge is different, and helps you think of different ways to do something creative. We'll have a selection of challenges for people to choose from, and lots of different materials to use. You can make pictures using card, fabrics and glues, draw  in ink and pencils, and even write poetry!</p>
<p>Art, writing, discussing, making, drinking cups of tea and creating!</p>
<p>Free refreshments</p>
<p>No need to book, just pop-in!</p>

    <content:encoded xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"><![CDATA[<p>Award winning dance company <a href="https://ldap2.3ca.org.uk/activities/families/news/new-dance-programme-created-in-collaboration-with-communities-in-east-bristol" class="internal-link"><strong>Movema</strong></a> invite children alongside their parent/carers to free dance workshops after school. Each week the sessions will start with a snack provided by Trinity, and a chance for people to chat and register. Followed by exciting and colourful dance &amp; craft activities based on the theme of carnivals.</p>
<p>The sessions are for families (parents/carers) inclusive of people of all ages and dance abilities.</p>
<p>We encourage people of all ages to join in with activities and welcome volunteers to help us make the group a warm and inclusive space.</p>
<p>As well as the weekly workshops, the project will involve a local performance.</p>

And if   it all gets too much, then you can just chill out and get a large drink   to get over the experience!</p>
<p>Expect a mixture of DJ's bringing you lots of energy and good sounds,   with also live acts and entertainment to just complete your   roller-disco night.</p>

<p>Bristol Samba is a community band that welcomes new and experienced drummers and dancers from all backgrounds and abilities. They hold regular weekly sessions and occasional workshops throughout the year. Even if you've never drummed or danced before, come and give it a try! Sessions are held on Mondays at Trinity 6pm - 10pm.</p>

<p>There will be latin and ballroom dancing as well as salsa, tango and fun line dances. There will be a warm up class at 1pm where you'll have a chance to learn the steps. You don't need to bring a partner. Tea and cake is included in the price.</p>
<p>How to get involved</p>
<p>This event is open to beginners as well as experienced dancers from Bristol and beyond, especially LGBTQ+ dancers from all cultural backgrounds, their friends, allies and supporters. Please wear something you feel comfortable moving in.</p>

In 2021 Jacky was awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to same-sex ballroom dancing.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 100%; "><span><span style="letter-spacing: normal; "><span>Dance for Parkinson’s Network UK and People Dancing in partnership with Bristol City Council, Fresh Arts, North Bristol NHS Trust and English National Ballet.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="mceContentBody documentContent">The course will provide participants with an insight into how to structure dance classes for people living with Parkinson’s, as well as focusing on the artistic imperative behind a Parkinson’s dance programme. Dance practitioners will also gain an overview of the effects of the condition on dance participants, learn how to ensure safety for all participants and benefit from the practical experience of devising and delivering content for a Dance for Parkinson’s class.<br /> <br /> Course Leaders: Dr Sophia Hulbert and artists from English National Ballet.<br /> <br /> Course participants must have successfully completed the Dance for Parkinson's On-Line Learning Programme assessment before taking part in the course. Access to the on-line learning programme is included in the course fee.</p>
