It’s been a big month for TEN TONNES. The 22-year-old achieved a lifetime ambition by releasing his self-titled debut album which won a widespread collection of positive reviews. He then followed its release by embarking upon a sold-out UK headline tour which culminated with a London show at Heaven.

Throughout his rise, TEN TONNES has consistently packed venues with his energised and uplifting live shows. His audience grows with each tour, a testament to his natural, word-of-mouth appeal. In London alone he’s moved up from Camden Assembly to the Scala to Heaven in the space of eighteen months.

And that trend now continues with news of his autumn European headline tour, with a fresh round of bigger shows including Electric Brixton on October 10^th. In addition to his own shows, TEN TONNES has won over audiences while on tour with George Ezra, Tom Grennan, Rat Boy and Stereophonics.

Garden Party is one of our most popular events - each year we programme family friendly workshops and some of Bristol and the South West's best bands and DJ's.

Our Making Tracks Showcase is an opportunity for young people, from our music making project, to showcase their talent to a 3,000 person Garden Party audience! The Showcase will be on the main stage from 12:00 - 12:30 then, in the main hall from 3pm - 6pm.

Students will join an awesome lineup including Sam Binga,  Rider Shafiue, Dutchie + Indra and Almatic.

Meghan is a multi-discipline drummer / singer. As a performer she is a ball of energy, that can't be ignored - whether it's rocking out on her drum kit or serving fierce vocals Meghan always packs a punch.

Rob proves it's never to late to pursue your passion. Having joined 18 months ago his Drum and Bass DJ stylings have thrived producing a mature sound. Area of Effect - Making their return to the Trinity, Garden Party stage Area's of Effect are a young Indie-Rock band - with oodles of talent and buckets of energy.

Making Tracks is a collaborative partnership between Trinity, ACE and Basement Studios. Making Tracks is supported by Youth Music and using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Tinariwen are poet-guitarists and soul rebels from the Southern Sahara desert. Their music expresses the aspirations of their people, the Kel Tamashek or 'Touareg' of the southern Sahara desert. The guitar is their weapon. Simplicity is Freedom.

Murmuration Choir brings you another bespoke collaboration with an artist they hold in great esteem - Musician, Producer and Celebrator of Environmental sound, Cosmo Sheldrake. 

Cosmo returns to Bristol after a sell-out show in November, to indulge in a long-held love of working with voices. He has additional background in ethnomusicology, folk song and acapella harmony - running his own Brighton-based choir up until 2013, and training with the legendary Bobby McFerrin. He will draw upon Murmuration Choir to build on pieces from his acclaimed 2018 album 'The Much Much How How and I', and 2015 EP 'Pelicans We', and direct McFerrin-style, Circle-Song improvisations.

In under a year, Murmuration Choir has quickly become one of Bristol's most exciting vocal projects, bringing together 64 established singers, who share a passion for 21st-century innovators of popular music. Inspired by 6 Music DJs, their repertoire draws from Neo-Soul, Electronica, and Experimental Pop and is arranged into 8-part harmony, accompanied by beatboxer, Jack Salt. 

Supporting the evening will be Bristol-based artist and Murmuration director; Isolde, who will be performing a pre-release of her latest EP - 'Elements' - backed by a full band. Isolde's work also shares a love of found sound and creative music production, incorporating influences from artists such as Bjork, James Blake, Little Dragon and Tune-Yards.

Edwyn Collins has announced details of the release of his 9th solo album, Badbea, which was released on his own label, AED

Having released his last album, Understated in March 2013, Badbea is his first release since moving both home and studio to Helmsdale on the North East coast of Scotland in 2014.

Ezra Collective's sound nods respectfully to a classic jazz footprint, celebrating the originators whilst simultaneously carving a path solely their own.

Ezra Collective is the award winning London based band born out of Tomorrows Warriors UK organisation for jazz music. The unique blend of young instrumentalists with differing influences means Ezra Collective has a unique sound which is a collection of their inspirations in music. This includes influences ranging from Afro Beat, Reggae, Jazz and Hip Hop, fused together with a London touch to create the Ezra Collective sound.

Mr Dynamite, which was voted 2018 Album Of The Year by Electronic Sound Magazine, was recorded in Cornwall with a lifetime’s collection of drum machines and synthesisers assembled by Benge and explored by every member of Creep Show. There’s a real sense of freedom in the shackles-off grooves, channelling the early pioneering spirit of the Sugarhill Gang through wires and random electric noise.

Tami T makes dancable electronic pop music with explicit romantic lyrics. She recently released her debut album High Pitched and Moist and her music has been featured in the film Something Must Break and in the Norwegian TV series Skam.

REBEKAH UBUNTU
Rebekah Ubuntu is a multidisciplinary sound artist whose creative and scholarly practices explore futurity, rebellion, gender, transfeminism and queerness through performance, live art, voice, installation, text and video.

LASANA SHABAZZ
Lasana Shabazz is a performance artist, writer and director whose work incorporates theatre, dance, spoken word, visual art. They work in art galleries, theatres, arts festivals, museums, educational institutions black, queer and QTIPOC art spaces internationally.

COOL DAD (KATY JALILI)
Genderqueer femme performer and art maker who exclusively uses they/them pronouns but often gets misgendered on stage. Cool Dad is the best leather daddy in town, but isn't allowed into gay spaces because of his boobs.

TOM MARSHMAN
Tom Marshman is a theatre maker whose practice honours the art of conversation and creates spaces that enable people to share their stories. We're thrilled that Tom is gracing the Thorny stage once again in his unique and captivating way!

E B U
Celebrating otherness, Bristol based producer E B U casts a universe of her own both sonically and visually. With the release of her debut album ‘Hinge’ on NoCorner, she lures you in with her haunting sound self-titled as 'Swamp Pop'.

OH, THE GUILT
Bristol's dreamiest post punk trio played the first ever Thorny night back in 2015! Since then they've toured the UK, released an EP and recently two new singles and a video. They're marking their return by opening the show!

PIERRE & BABY
Pierre & Baby are a queer performance duo based in London. Consisting of Peter Babbage & Luke Bafico; they began working together in 2017, with the aim to create work that reflects their own experiences. They present achilles, a hedonistic, hyper-sexualised visual dance mashup exploring the relentless pressure to be desirable in queer club spaces.

Sometimes revolutions begin quietly. In 1988, Cowboy Junkies proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet, beautiful and reflective. The Trinity Session was like a whisper that cut through the noise – and it was compelling. It stood out in the midst of the flash and bombast that came to define the late 80’s. The now classic recording combined folk, blues and rock in a way that had never been heard before and went on to sell more than a million copies.

With Cowboy Junkies’ new album, All That Reckoning, the band once again gently shakes the listener to wake up. Whether commenting on the fragile state of the world or on personal relationships, this new collection of songs encourages the listener to take notice. It also may be the most powerful album Cowboy Junkies have yet recorded.

While the music is characteristically easy to listen to, the songs on “All That Reckoning” are visceral. In true Junkies fashion, the gentleness is juxtaposed with rock that can be jarring.

Celebrate into the early hours of the 51st St Paul's Carnival morning at Trinity Centre! Alternate and Adaptive team up to present a monster Jungle / Drum & Bass Carnival after-party, featuring the UK's original Jungle-movement family; [TBA], Ish Chat label bosses SpectraSoul, a mouth-watering two hour back-to-back by Serum and Doc Scott, 1985's fast-rising gems Dogger and Mindstate, alongside the legendary GQ and Codebreaker + Alternate and Adaptive resident selectors and MCs!

Jade Elizabeth Bird is a British singer, songwriter and musician. Her debut EP Something American was released in July 2017. Rolling Stone described her vocals as "raw and robust" with Tony Visconti stating "she sings so adroitly, she's very intelligent as a singer and there's nothing she can't do".

Jade’s chosen to record her debut album in Woodstock with celebrated producer Simone Felice.

While she lives in London now, Jade says it’s everywhere else she’s lived — and the reasons she’s moved around so much - that have made her the woman she is. She was born in Hexham, up near the Scottish border, then moved to London, then Germany, and then Wales. Not unusual for someone whose parents are both in the army, but after those parents split up it was the move from Germany to Wales with her mum that made the biggest impact on Jade.
