Neneh Cherry's extraordinary fifth solo album, Broken Politics, asks these questions and more—searching for answers, patiently and with great care, and with a fearlessness to acknowledge that sometimes the answers don't even exist.
Loyle Carner - SOLD OUT

British hip hop musician and actor

“Loyle Carner is Britains most recent new hope in hip hop,” according to The Fader and countless others. The 20 year old emcee from South London has been causing quite a stir following the release of his debut ‘A Little Late’ EP in September of last year. All but one track on the EP was produced by Loyle’s right hand man and live partner Rebel Kleff. The two of them create reminiscent old school hip hop with their own UK and modern influences.

After first appearing in 2013 on Rejjie Snow’s ‘Rejovich’ EP on track ‘1992’, Loyle’s name started to make the rounds, not least to mention the track being picked up by Majestic Casual and has racked up over 700k views to date. Following the release of the ‘A Little Late’ EP, Loyle has gone on to work with the likes of Kate Tempest, Maverick Sabre, Tom Misch and multiple others, all in preparation for releases in 2015.

With three successful UK tours now under his belt with Joey Bada$$, Kate Tempest and Atmosphere, Loyle is set to make some serious moves on the UK circuit and abroad, with strong support coming from all over Europe, the US and Australia. Support in the UK has come from all areas, being championed on Radio 1Xtra by DJ Semtex and Phil Taggart, Huw Stephens and Lauren Laverne at Radio 1. His latest single with Kate Tempest was added to 6Music’s B-list and then bumped up to the A-List immediately after a week and has not stopped being played.

The new year looks extremely promising for the young rapper, expect to be seeing a lot more from him in the coming months.

RIDE

English rock band

plus support from Piney Gir

Ride have announced a one-off and intimate acoustic tour in late November and early December to round off a brilliant 18 months of new music, sold out shows and festival appearances. The five date run will mark the 30th Anniversary of this revered Oxford quartet, all providing a big, cyclical celebration of Ride's life in music and another opportunity to enjoy their much loved live show before taking a well earned break.

On first glance an acoustic tour might seem a strange way of celebrating Ride's gloriously noisy journey through thirty years of sound, especially one that was termed 'shoegaze' by the media in the '90s. The tour idea originally sprung from a unique night in April earlier this year when Ride played a beautiful old church, St Paul's, in Worthing. Ride performed an entire acoustic set, mixing in recent songs from the acclaimed 'Tomorrow's Shore' EP and 'Weather Diaries' album - both produced by Erol Alkan and mixed by Alan Moulder - with tracks from Creation-era classics 'Nowhere', 'Going Blank Again' and 'Carnival Of Light'. The set sounded totally psychedelic and robust, retaining the magic of the full electric set up and completely captivating the audience. So much so, it seemed like a good idea to do it again.

Over to the band with a further take on the acoustic "These shows will explore and span old and newer songs giving us a chance to play some tunes we rarely get to perform along with more familiar tunes in a different way. We’ve been loving all the shows we’ve been playing since our reunion and we look forward to these".

The Living Legend Sister Nancy aka The Queen of Dancehall comes to Bristol for a very special performance with Legal Shot Sound.

In the words of her iconic 1982 single “Bam Bam,” Sister Nancy is “one inna three million,” an artist whose talents truly “come from creation.”

Regarded as the first female star in the male-dominated world of Jamaican dancehall, Sister Nancy continues to blaze new trails 35 years after the release of her first and only album. Recently recognized by Pitchfork as The Best Dancehall Song of All-Time, “Bam Bam” has been sampled, quoted and referenced in tracks by Lauryn Hill, Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West and most recently Jay Z
