In their latest album, Porridge have distilled their myriad of influences into a sound that is unequivocally theirs. ]]>Over the course of his career, Jackson has worked with greats such as Stevie Wonder, Roy Ayers, and Earth, Wind and Fire; more recently building on this pool of talent with A Tribe called Quest's Al Shaheed Muhammad, vocalist Gregory Porter, and legendary bassist Charnett Moffett.
Jackson looks to both the present and the past for inspiration to honour the ancient tradition of the griot - the African troubadour of truth. In this tradition, Jackson tells the stories of how many of his best-loved pieces came to light.

]]>The hip hop group's momentum was put on hold in 2020, when Groggs tragically passed away. Their sophomore album, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, was largely completed with Groggs' contributions, before his passing. The title pays homage to a song that's been covered countless times, which aligns with the group's ethos and approach to creating music. Injury Reserve pull inspiration from several styles and eras of hip hop, running everything through their own lens, and putting a distinct and cohesive sound across their references.
