We represent fun, positivity, and forward thinking. We aim to create an intergenerational dance-floor. A multi-genre night blending 90s/00s RnB & Hip Hop, Dancehall, Afrobeats, UK Garage, Baile Funk, Global Club and Bass Music.

Peachin' love Mina & Bryte's high energy global club music. Following their sold-out headline show at The Jazz Cafe in London, we are incredibly excited to announce this exclusive appearance in our city.

Representing Bristol's infamous bass heavy style, local sound system legends Jah Lokko will be powering the night. Usually found in the depths of dub nights and ever present residents at St Paul's Carnival. It’s going to be a rare treat to Witness this pairing of up beat, eclectic peachin selection with the tried and true formula of Bristol Bass behind it.

Review of Peaches Live, 2016 by seasoned festival goer, Linner

When someone’s a seasoned old-timer, been going to gigs and festivals for more years than they care to remember, and they come home saying, “That was the best show I’ve ever seen!” you’d be forgiven for taking it with a pinch of salt.

Peaches, however, took that crown. She blew my socks off. And her own.

The costumes (Dancing vaginas - every show needs them. Who knew?) - or, at times, lack of them! - were eye popping.

The crowd were a sea of ecstatic faces, wowed by Peaches’ utter lack of inhibition which was, of course, infectious.

Strangers became dancing partners as we funked the night away; her growling, encompassing, electro punk sound and attitude forcing us all to let it all go. So we did.

This was a night to remember: one for the grand-kids; one for sweet dreams; a unifying spectacle of a night.

Thank you, Peaches, please keep f**king that pain away.

+ Support

It’s been six years since Peaches released her last studio album. But far from being a break, these past six years have been some of the busiest and most productive in the provocative musician-producer-filmmaker-performance artist’s career. From acclaimed theater productions to her cinematic debut at the Toronto International Film Festival to the release of her first book, Peaches pushed herself further and with more artistic rewards than ever before during her time away from the studio. That work ethic should come as little surprise, though. This is Peaches we’re talking about, an artist who’s managed to wield immeasurable influence over mainstream pop culture while still operating from outside of its confines, carving a bold, sexually progressive path in her own image that’s opened the door for countless others to follow. Now, creatively refreshed and recharged, she’s emerged from the studio in rare form with ‘RUB,’ her fifth and most unequivocal album to date. It’s an adventurous, audacious musical statement, the latest entry in a conversation Peaches opened up 15 years ago and the world may just now have finally caught up with.

Parquet Courts

Recorded over the course of a year against a backdrop of personal instability, Parquet Courts’ new record, Human Performance, massively expands the idea of what a Parquet Courts record can be. They’ve been one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the last 5 years; this is the record that backs all those words up.

“Every day it starts, anxiety,” began the first song on 2014’s Content Nausea. Those were essentially the song’s only lyrics, but Human Performance picks up where that thought left off, picking apart the anxieties of modern life: “The unavoidable noise of NYC that can be maddening, the kind of the impossible struggle against clutter, whether it’s physical or mental or social,” says singer, guitarist and Human Performance producer/mixer Austin Brown.

There has always been the emotional side of Parquet Courts, which has always had an important balance with the more discussed cerebral side, but Savage sees Human Performance as a redistribution of weight in that balance. “I began to question my humanity, and if it was always as sincere as I thought, or if it was a performance,” says Savage. “I felt like a sort of malfunctioning apparatus,” he says. “Like a machine programmed to be human showing signs of defect.

The sonic diversity, time, and existential effort that went into its creation makes Human Performance Parquet Courts’ most ambitious record to date. It’s a work of incredible creative vision born of seemingly insurmountable adversity. It is also their most accessible record yet.

There is enough nastiness in the world and sometimes it feels like there's not much we can do to combat that. That being said, we can still get together in a room, move our bodies as freely as they will allow us to, and enjoy each other's company for a night of dancing, making friends, and that feels like something to celebrate. They want this to be a space where people can feel held, throw their limbs about to some really interesting music, and enjoy each other. They hope this party gives you a twinkle in your eye, and a place to forget about the things that may weigh you down on a day to day basis.

Expect: Cumbia, Salsa, Highlife, Congotronics, Lovers rock, New Orleans Jazz, Bhangra, Calypso, Merengue and many more.

About Uchenna Dance

The Company

Uchenna Dance is based in London, UK. It was formed in January 2009 under the vision and leadership of Vicki Igbokwe, shortly after she experienced a life-changing trip to New York during the summer of 2008. It was a Wednesday evening and Vicki had just finished taking a house dance class at Peridance Studios and had been told about a club called Sin Sin, that had a house night called Soulgasam. It hit her that this dance she was falling in love with, house dance, was much more than just a style of dance, it was a culture, a way of life. The DJ was spinning some tunes and the dancers were killing it…

The Uchenna dance style fuses Waacking, Vogue and House with traditional African and Contemporary, creating a signatory aesthetic that simply is, Uchenna.

Uchenna (pronounced OO-CHENNA) offers a unique and contemporary addition to the UK dance scene.

Since its inception, Uchenna Dance has grown from an informal explorative company to a tour de force within the dance sector.

The company’s overarching aim is to Empower, Entertain and Educate through dance in a diverse programme that includes the production of dance theatre production experiences, coaching, dance based empowerment workshops and teaching in further and higher education.
