(on stage 8.30pm)

In the wake of Nitin Sawhney’s numerous Radio/TV appearances and a host of summer gigs/festival performances this year, the album release of “Dystopian Dream” builds on last year’s sell out preview show at The Royal Albert Hall with a full band promo tour.

Nitin Sawhney is one of the most distinctive and versatile musical voices around today. Firmly established as a world-class producer, songwriter, DJ, multi-instrumentalist, orchestral composer and cultural pioneer, Sawhney has become a latter-day Renaissance man in the worlds of music, film, videogames, dance and theatre.

Sawhney’s output as a musician is highly prolific. He has scored for and performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras, and collaborated with and written for the likes of Paul McCartney, Sting, The London Symphony Orchestra, A.R. Rahman, Brian Eno, Sinead O’Connor, Anoushka Shankar, Jeff Beck, Shakira, Will Young, Joss Stone, Taio Cruz, Ellie Goulding, Horace Andy, Cirque Du Soleil, Akram Khan, Deepa Mehta, Mira Nair, Nelson Mandela and John Hurt. Performing extensively around the world, he has achieved an international reputation across every possible creative medium.

Often appearing as Artist in Residence, Curator or Musical Director at international festivals, Sawhney works tirelessly for musical education, having acted as patron of the British Government’s Access-to-music programme, the East London Film festival and, currently, Artis as well as acting as a judge for The Ivor Novello Awards, BAFTA, BIFA and the PRS foundation. He is a recipient of 6 honorary doctorates from British universities, is a fellow of LIPA and the Southbank University, an Associate of Sadler’s Wells, sits on the board for London’s Somerset House and in 2007 turned down an OBE for ethical reasons.

Netsky’s rise up the ranks has been a sight to behold. He first made his name with Hospital Records in 2009 with a series of blistering releases including single ‘Memory Lane’ and his infamous self-titled debut album ‘Netsky’ , which propelled the talented young producer from Belgium into the premiere league. Starting out with an underground drum ‘n’ bass label like Chase & Status did before him, Hospital Records ended up being the perfect springboard for Boris Daenen to get to where he is today.

A Billion Heartbeats tour

Indie rock outfit Mystery Jets head to Trinity as part of their UK tour to celebrate the release of their new album: A Billion Heartbeats.

Inspired by coming of age in the political backdrop of the last 20 years the album “is a mirror for what’s going on, reflecting back the way people are feeling” tender and fierce, abstract and full of classic rock energy. Featuring songs of protest that get the heart racing in joy; high on hope, and serious in their message. Proof, basically, that music speaks louder than words.

Mykki Blanco blurs genres, pulling rave, trap, grunge and punk influences into a swirling pool of experimental hip hop that celebrates queer and trans experiences. Leading the charge as a pioneering trailblazer in the so-called ‘queer rap’ sub-genre, their music pushes hip hop to some of its most untethered bounds, melding noise and experimental elements with club and trap sounds, whilst forging a uniquely subversive path within a genre historically entangled in a problematic web of misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia.

Joining forces with Kelsey Lu to drop their newest single, French Lessons, and album, Stay Close to Music, due to release this year, Mykki is fearless in their ability to evolve, placing their creative exploration at the forefront of their career.

(Beaumarchais)

In a grand house not too far away, the high melodrama and petty squabbles of its residents are played out in glorious technicolour. Love, jealousy, class struggle, and families lost and found are staged on a household scale. At the centre of it all, an artful Figaro and his beloved Susanna, together with an unhappy Countess, conspire to show a philandering, arrogant Count the error of his ways. As events unfold in escalating absurdity, it will take all of Figaro's wiles to explain away squashed geraniums, boys dressed as girls, and contractual marriage obligations.
+ support from

Having formed in early 2000’s out of Glastonbury and Winchester, The Moulettes have fast become renowned for their breathtaking live shows. It is clear that few bands have the creative range and work ethic of Moulettes, with a brave approach to production and arrangement Moulettes look for peculiar ways of blending acoustic and electric instruments. Lead singer and songwriter Hannah Miller creates an otherworldly framework in which fantastical characters move between the realms of nature, magic and science and out of that Preternatural was born - an eclectic 11-track opus for the Natural World, and the strange and beautiful creatures in it.

The Moulettes have always been an evolving phenomenon and each album has seen a significant leap into new unchartered territory, prompting comparisons as disparate as Roxy Music, Frank Zappa, Kate Bush, Bowie and Radiohead plus more.

“We identify with bands who present their own kind of eclecticism,” says Oliver Austin. “From Zappa, and Gentle Giant to current bands like Field Music, John Grant, Snarky Puppy, Laura Mvula, My Brightest Diamond, tUnE-yArDs and Tortoise; these were all references for the record.

Incurably ambitious, this is a band that has always put an adventurous approach to Art at the heart of their craft and have constantly been on the road with varying sized ensembles from a three-piece to a full chamber orchestra.

Bunty, a Brighton-based musician and visual artist will be taking to the stage in Bristol on Thursday 7 December. Part of the Beatabet collective, live Bunty uses her renegade multi-instrumentalism, voice, effects pedals and a mash of real and made-up languages. Her live show is like nothing else with each set bringing to life a huge amount of improvisation, meaning this performance will be unlike any other she has done before.

To continue the theme of the unexpected, in addition to Bunty, classically-trained violinist Mike Dennis will be supporting. His love of Run DMC, Beastie Boys and Gangstarr has led him to create a unique kind of string-heavy hip hop music he calls Violinica. Drawing inspiration from daily British life and the perils and profits of love - you will not see any other artist like this!
