From his early days in the Bay Area until now, MIXMASTER MIKE has always been looking for new ways to create Art that challenges the status quo, keeping his brand relevant and exciting for older fans and millenials alike.

Mixmaster Mike's status as a premier, award-winning DJ and producer, has allowed him to maintain his rank as an influential musician, and become a household name.

Grammy award winner, his many accomplishments include a 3 time consecutive win of the DMC World Title, and being inducted into the Rock N'Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 with his crew BEASTIE BOYS, his skillful, hard-hitting scratch work has rightfully earned him the status of a pioneer in the HipHop and DJ communities.

MIXMASTER MIKE performed all over the planet with the biggest acts as CYPRESS HILL for the Elephants On Acid Tour 2018-2019, METALLICA for their US stadium tour 2012, and solo for major events as Vancouver Winter Olympics opening and alongside Kendrick Lamar for Barack Obama’s Honors Gala.

He's released several classic albums and mixtapes, produced soundtracks for cartoons and movies, but also the Fifa World Cup and much more.

When he's on the 1s and 2's, more than a regular Dj set, expect a real live performance fuelled with firing selections of rap, funk, rock, and bass music, powered with high turntablism skills and science of crowd moving!

Trinity Presents: Bristol Dances Stage

Head to Millennium and get ready to experience dance in its many forms this year at the first-ever Trinity Presents: Bristol Dances Stage (Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July 2019).

The programme offers an exiting selection of performances and workshops from some of the best dance companies and communities thriving in Bristol - from Hip Hop, street dance, Bollywood, swing, salsa, Brazilian styles, funk, cabaret and drag.

Not to be missed moments include a swing dance party hosted by both Bristol Swing Dance and Bristol Swing Riot, a Ceilidh Dance with Mr Medler, and a cabaret and drag extravaganza curated by Eat Sleep Drag Repeat.

Gerry’s Attic, an older peoples dance company who are known for their Dance festival Full Bloom, and the award winning young people’s street dance Hype Dance Company feature on this year's programme. Both are community groups that use Trinity to run regular activities - supported through our Community Initiative a scheme that offers over 4000 hours of free or subsidised hall space each year.

There is also an opportunity for young people who take part in our collaborative music making project Making Tracks to showcase their talents on the Making Tracks Showcase. The project is a partnership between Basement Studios, Aspiration Creation Elevation (ACE@Docklands) and Trinity who offer young people in Bristol who are struggling with challenging personal circumstances life changing music making experiences.

There will also be plenty of chances for younger visitors to move their feet thanks to family-friendly sessions each morning.

In this too often self-obsessed superficial age when the trivial and the frivolous frequently take precedence over more intimate and meaningful things, how wonderful it is that we have at least got Earth to elevate us above the slime.

Dylan Carlson’s warm and emotive instrumental tones seem to connect and speak in such a way that vocals are superfluous. For those willing and able to invest in his work the rewards are plenty and precious.

When Carlson set about laying the building blocks of Earth it was as a minimalist drone outfit, the 2005 Morricone-inspired Hex, signalling a change in musical direction that has extended through albums such as The Bees Made Honey in the Lion’s Skull (2008) their latest full length Primitive And Deadly (2014).

The Bluetones filled the gap that the Stone Roses left behind, providing graceful but muscular guitar pop with slightly psychedelic overtones. They appeared during the waning days of Brit-pop, which guaranteed them a considerable amount of press coverage that helped their debut album rocket to the top of the charts upon its release in early 1996.

Originally called the Bottlegarden, the Bluetones formed in Hounslow, England in 1994. The group consisted of guitarist Adam Devlin, drummer Eds Chester, vocalist Mark Morriss, and his brother Scott, who played bass. All of the members had previously played in local bands before forming the Bluetones. During 1995, the group released two singles on its Superior Quality Recordings label, "Are You Blue or Are You Blind?" and "Bluetonic," which received positive reviews in the British music weeklies. By the fall of 1995, they were being touted as the next big thing in Brit-pop, since their sound fell halfway between the Stone Roses and Oasis. Early in 1996, the Bluetones released "Slight Return," which shot to number two a month before their debut album, Expecting to Fly, was released. Expecting to Fly was greeted with mixed reviews, but it debuted at number one on the British charts and became a sizable hit.

Despite their British success, the Bluetones had trouble breaking through in America. Furthermore, they were the subject of a quick backlash, as many critics believed the group embodied the conservatism of Brit-pop -- the non-LP single "Marblehead Johnson" was welcomed coolly upon its fall release, and it only dented the charts. During early 1997, the Bluetones began working on their second album, Return to the Last Chance Saloon; Science & Nature followed in mid-2000. A collection of singles, aptly titled The Singles, followed in the spring of 2002, and 2004 brought Luxembourg.

However, if Suggs was to bump into Ian Dury, Damon Albarn and Ray Davies and embark on a dance craze through Punk, Ska, Two Tone and Brit pop you'd have The Communicators!

The Comms (as they were dubbed by this ever-growing faithful following) borrow shamelessly from artists like Madness, The Kinks, Small Faces, The Specials, Blur and The Blockheads without losing their own identity.

The blend of harmonious, brass drenched SKA tunes is a mix of Madness esc popism with  crafted lyrics that Dury himself would be happy to have penned.

It’s unmistakably British yet accessible to the US, playful, obvious where it needs to be yet unafraid of going into unexpected places when the mood takes em!

Following February's double headline show in Manchester with Mala and Loefah, Boom Sound welcome The Skints on a long overdue trip to Bristol and they will be joined by special guests Bedouin Soundclash.

The Skints are celebrating the release of their 4th album - Swimming Lessons - which has raised the bar again receiving rave reviews and seeing widespread support across the globe from the UK to the USA.

Bedouin Soundclash are one of the main headliners to play Boomtown Fair this year.

It’s been a big month for TEN TONNES. The 22-year-old achieved a lifetime ambition by releasing his self-titled debut album which won a widespread collection of positive reviews. He then followed its release by embarking upon a sold-out UK headline tour which culminated with a London show at Heaven.

Throughout his rise, TEN TONNES has consistently packed venues with his energised and uplifting live shows. His audience grows with each tour, a testament to his natural, word-of-mouth appeal. In London alone he’s moved up from Camden Assembly to the Scala to Heaven in the space of eighteen months.

And that trend now continues with news of his autumn European headline tour, with a fresh round of bigger shows including Electric Brixton on October 10^th. In addition to his own shows, TEN TONNES has won over audiences while on tour with George Ezra, Tom Grennan, Rat Boy and Stereophonics.

Garden Party is one of our most popular events - each year we programme family friendly workshops and some of Bristol and the South West's best bands and DJ's.

Our Making Tracks Showcase is an opportunity for young people, from our music making project, to showcase their talent to a 3,000 person Garden Party audience! The Showcase will be on the main stage from 12:00 - 12:30 then, in the main hall from 3pm - 6pm.

Students will join an awesome lineup including Sam Binga,  Rider Shafiue, Dutchie + Indra and Almatic.

Rob proves it's never to late to pursue your passion. Having joined 18 months ago his Drum and Bass DJ stylings have thrived producing a mature sound. Area of Effect - Making their return to the Trinity, Garden Party stage Area's of Effect are a young Indie-Rock band - with oodles of talent and buckets of energy.

Tinariwen are poet-guitarists and soul rebels from the Southern Sahara desert. Their music expresses the aspirations of their people, the Kel Tamashek or 'Touareg' of the southern Sahara desert. The guitar is their weapon. Simplicity is Freedom.
