After first appearing in 2013 on Rejjie Snow’s ‘Rejovich’ EP on track ‘1992’, Loyle’s name started to make the rounds, not least to mention the track being picked up by Majestic Casual and has racked up over 700k views to date. Following the release of the ‘A Little Late’ EP, Loyle has gone on to work with the likes of Kate Tempest, Maverick Sabre, Tom Misch and multiple others, all in preparation for releases in 2015.

With three successful UK tours now under his belt with Joey Bada$$, Kate Tempest and Atmosphere, Loyle is set to make some serious moves on the UK circuit and abroad, with strong support coming from all over Europe, the US and Australia. Support in the UK has come from all areas, being championed on Radio 1Xtra by DJ Semtex and Phil Taggart, Huw Stephens and Lauren Laverne at Radio 1. His latest single with Kate Tempest was added to 6Music’s B-list and then bumped up to the A-List immediately after a week and has not stopped being played.

The new year looks extremely promising for the young rapper, expect to be seeing a lot more from him in the coming months.

Tonight in Bristol their sound was deep and loud (especially in "Monkey" from The Great Destroyer). Steve Garrington's bass was almost cruel in its precision and resonance. Alan Sparhawk's guitars roared when they weren't whispering. He was in truculent communion with the universe, expressing his normal laconic wit in wordless gestures and physical moves. "For your boys in Dubai…" was his shrugged opening line, introducing the unsettling "Plastic Cup" from the new album. He is a very handsome man.

Mimi Parker sang her songs and harmonies as beautifully as only she can, repressing something that wasn't being said by giving nothing away. Sixteen songs and two encores were presented – and they were all magnificent. The Trinity audience were reverentially silent (and the last words of the last song "I Hear Goodnight" were whispered – but every bit as audible as the shrugs)

The new album "The Invisible Way" was threaded through some of the best know classics like "Canada" and "Walk Into The Sea". The new songs maintained the high quality and intensity that Low's admirers expect. Trinity's audience were spellbound throughout .

Hibronix, a project of David Blumberg, formerly of Yuck, opened the evening with three big pieces of slurred and slowed Sparklehorse-like drone , supported on two by sidemen Sparhawk and Garrington. ("my backing band", he quipped) . What a very good night it was.

In September 2024, we welcomed 'Seedling Sessions' as part of our in-house programme, Trinity Presents. The event is dedicated to showcasing early-career musicians with the goal of fostering a more inclusive music industry in Bristol. Beyond performances, people are able to access work experience opportunities in areas like artist liaison, stage management, and sound engineering.

The event is the brain-child of Bristol-based artist MĀDŁY (aka Cassie Madly) who curates diverse lineups, showcasing various genres which allows audiences to connect with artists they might not have discovered otherwise.

“Seedling Sessions felt more like a curated art experience than a gig. Each act took me on a journey, and the night flowed beautifully from start to finish. I can imagine it becoming a mainstay of Bristol’s nightlife.” - Audience Member

During September's event, Madly programmed Experiment x O.B, a fusion of Deems Experiment and Solomon OB; Jausmė, a Lithuanian artist known for her innovative use of the kanklės and Immy, a Bristol-based musician programmed through a partnership with music college BIMM.

For the event the Fyfe Hall featured decor designed to evoke the ambiance of an old-school jazz club, with cabaret-style seating, candles, and a cocktail menu. With over 110 attendees, the night was a resounding success.

On bringing sessions to Trinity Cassie shared that “Trinity is an iconic venue in Bristol that a lot of musicians dream of playing at. When I mentioned bringing my concept there, they were immediately supportive. The upstairs room, with its historic features and stunning stained-glass window, was perfect for the vibe I had in mind,”

Seedling Sessions were originally founded in 2016 by Cassie Madly (aka Madly), the event began as a monthly showcase, providing artists with the opportunity to perform live, while also receiving professional photos and videos to help promote future gigs.

Venue levy: Trinity is introducing a £1 Restoration Levy on every event ticket sold. This income will be used to create a dedicated fund for critical building works that will protect and maintain the Trinity Centre building and grounds.

"With heavy hearts we are cancelling Livity Sound at Trinity Centre on 28th March.

We all have to play our part in slowing the spread of Corona virus, although it's not Government policy as yet, we feel that it's the responsible thing to do right now to help protect the wider community.We are looking to reschedule events with our guests Shanti Celeste, Peach and Cando for later in the year. In the meantime, if you have bought a ticket, your ticket vendor will refund you.

We're very excited welcome back Peach whose meteoric rise has gained her fans across the globe. A bio that simply reads “Ball of Energy “ perfectly encapsulates the Peach vibe, expect vital house and techno full of zeal from across the spectrum.

We also welcome back London's Parris, who is currently on a stellar ascent following an amazing run of music from the 'Terrapin' ep on Wisdom Teeth to the 'Polychrome Swim' EP on Trilogy Tapes. He also recently started a label with Call Super called 'Can You Feel the Sun'. Not only a top drawer producer, Parris is also one of the most exciting and versatile DJs around and we’re very excited to hear what he brings on the night.

Al Wootton is certainly a Livity Sound favourite and recently released the acclaimed 'Snake Dance' EP on the label. The Trule records boss has made a huge impact on the UK scene with releases on Trule including the incredible 'Witness' album last year. Drawing on dark UK Garage and Two Step influences alongside a heavy dose of dub production techniques, Al is without a doubt one of the UK's finest.

Finally, we're lucky enough to have Bristol's own Robin Stewart (from Giant Swan) warming up the night for us. A legend in his own right within the Bristol scene Robin will be digging deep in his personal collection, bringing his incredible music knowledge for the early crew. We can’t think of a better person to be warming up the room.See you in the dance!
