Launched in 2006, Symmetry Recordings is a Jungle / Drum n Bass record label created and owned by producer Break. Releasing a wide spectrum of high quality music the label is home to many of Break’s best known solo releases including both albums “Symmetry” and “Resistance”.
After 5 years representing solely his own tracks on the label Break widened the scope of artists in 2011 featuring some highly talented up and coming new producers, with an impressive stable of top name collaborators. Seminal tracks such as “Slow Down” produced with DJ Die and “Don’t Look Down” featuring Calyx and Teebee have helped shape a label into the respected portal supported by many DnB fans across the globe.

]]>‘Let the Cards Fall’ is the new album from Manchester’s The Breath. Underscoring the remarkable connection between guitarist Stuart McCallum and singer, lyricist and flautist, Ríoghnach Connolly, their music journeys from lush, beguiling storytelling to uplifting, punch-the-air anthems.
The follow-up to their 2016 breakthrough album, ‘Carry Your Kin’, ‘Let the Cards Fall’ is a bewitching collection of songs allowed to mature and breathe without losing the widescreen, multi-textured kaleidoscope of sound that marked their debut, while refining their trademark Manchester take on alt-folk.
For the Breath, it’s all about the song. Connolly writes the only way she knows how; a stream of poetic consciousness giving rise to honest, personal, heartfelt songs as likely to touch on childhood summers and first love as cultural dislocation, post-colonial injustices and grief. But it’s her deeply soulful, utterly engaging, stop-you-in-your-tracks voice – whether delicate and hushed or powerful and gutsy - coupled with Stuart's understated brilliance and their exquisitely crafted songs, that give The Breath such emotional depth.

]]>Joyner Lucas will tour the UK for the very first time this year. Lucas has been making waves in the rap game, going viral with “I’m Not Racist” and “Frozen,” two socially-conscious tracks with potent imagery tackling racism and reckless driving. His co-signs are a big deal, with Eminem, Chris Brown, and Timbaland are among those who’ve celebrated the rising star. Eminem telling none other than Elton John that Lucas is one of his favourite rappers.
Lucas is readying his debut album, following his critically acclaimed mixtape 508-507-2209, as well as a joint album with his "Stranger Things" & “I Don’t Die” collaborator Chris Brown titled Angels and Demons. The duo released "Stranger Things" earlier this year following a solo single titled “Frozen” and as of recently “I Don’t Die”.
It has been suggested that it doesn't matter where you're from, but where you're at. Hip-Hop has proven that both locations matter equally. However, every once in a while you get an artist like Joyner Lucas that is more concerned about where they are going.
"My music is purity," says Lucas. "I try to have a bit of everything. I can't please everybody, but I try to with my music. I am a musical guy, so I couldn't pigeon hole myself even if I tried."
Lucas' latest offering Along Came Joyner proves this. The conceptual album revolves around a story about a man from another planet who gets kicked out of home by his mother, lands on earth and begins a quest to find his human father. A story that isn't too far off from Lucas' real-life experiences.
