Garden Party: Revolution Sounds

Free event with the theme Arts, Heritage, and Activism

Celebrate the end of a summer of arts and music activities and head down to Trinity on 18 Sep for Garden Party: Revolution Sounds; a free, community party that will bring together some of the best arts activists, covering music, sound, poetry, art and performance.

Across three spaces catch some of the artists and activists that have helped shaped Bristol’s world-wide status as a city of protest.

  • Enjoy punk, reggae, and dub alongside our selection of some of the best up-and-coming artists from Bristol and beyond.
  • Join the conversation and hear from some of the leading creatives using arts to amplify Grassroots voices.
  • Explore the story of art and activism through murals, visual arts, film screenings, and more, celebrating Bristol’s heritage of protest movements.

Art of Resistance - After the Fire

An Immersive Exhibition 12pm - 6pm: Fyfe Hall

What makes an activist? What makes people take action and create artwork? What is or isn’t art or an artefact? After The Fire is a thought-provoking odyssey through the sounds and sights of Bristol’s protest history in recent years.

On the hour from 1pm until 5pm, we will have 15 minute immersive interventions - visceral performances by Bristol based artists symbolising 5 themes: PUNK, UPRISING, SPOKEN TRUTH, IDENTITY & REVOLUTION.

  • 1pm – 1:15pm PUNK
  • 2pm – 2:15pm UPRISING
  • 3pm – 3:15pm SPOKEN TRUTH
  • 4pm – 4:15pm IDENTITY
  • 5pm – 5:15pm REVOLUTION

Head upstairs to Fyfe Hall to check out the exhibition.
