Fay Hield is a traditional English folk singer and a Senior Lecturer in Ethnomusicology. She interprets English song with spine-tingling clarity. Her 2020 album Wrackline hit the top 10 and received widespread critical acclaim. Open and honest storytelling, her voice is melodic & mesmerising. With a band featuring Sam Sweeney (fiddle) and Rob Harbron (concertina, fiddle, vocals), expect an afternoon of stunning musicianship & exquisite vocals.
Angeline Morrison:
Angeline Morrison is a Birmingham born folk artist. stunning 2022 album The Sorrow Songs presents a set of songs of Black British experience rarely found in collected traditional repertoire. Voted No. 1 Folk Album of the Year by the Guardian, Sorrow Songs explores a rich heritage of black music, so present in US culture, yet conspicuously lost to the UK.
Janice Burns and Jon Doran:
Janice Burns & Jon Doran is an Anglo-Scottish duo who came together after discovering a shared love of traditional music. Gorgeous harmony singing is accompanied with mandolin, bouzouki & guitar. Warm words & wonderful arrangements bring their deep-rooted musical wisdom to the stage.
