Travelling Tunes

Share music and stories inspired by travelling life.

Bring your instruments, your words and yourselves down for an afternoon of sharing music and stories inspired by the travelling life.

Free hot food and drinks provided and all ages welcome.

Schedule
12:00 - 14:00 Songwriting and Poetry Workshop - Lisa and Maddie (ROADSIDE)
Join us in writing songs and poems inspired by life on the road. No experience required, everyone welcome!

14:00 - 16:00 - Open Mic hosted by Esmerelda.
Bring your instruments, share something, or just come and have a brew and listen! All are welcome to try out new songs and old favourites.

All Day Drop In - Visual Art Workshop with Beth Goodwin
Take part in the creation of a collaborative art piece. The idea is to produce a patchwork piece of drawings and collage, playing with tracing, drawing, light and shadow. Visually capturing the present movements of our bodies in this space, and the captured archival movement of the past. Bring your own images or stories to add to the piece or draw from ours!

Buy free workshop tickets here.

Esmerelda is a singer songwriter, with a neo-soul feel as well as folk and jazz influences. She draws inspiration from artists such as Lianne la Lavas, Nora Jones and Johnny Flynn. Her music explores nature, self and the relationship between the two, inviting you to nestle down and enjoy some sweet soft sounds.

Travelling Tunes is organised by the artists behind ROADSIDE, a new show coming to Trinity in April. Inspired by interviews with roadside dwellers across the south west and drawing on the musical history of this new traveller community, from festivals to free parties, to songs around the fire. ROADSIDE is a celebration of dance floor revelations and the emergence of a new traveller culture from festivals and free parties.
