Building on the success of the Sabar Family Festival, Sabar Family are thrilled to invite you to the Sabar Family Workshop Series.
Prepare for an immersive day celebrating the rich traditions of Sabar from Senegal. This workshop features not one, but three exceptional international guest instructors, offering workshops in:
Dance: Experience the lively movements that define Sabar dance and learn traditional and contemporary styles.
Drumming: Get hands-on with the powerful rhythms of Sabar drumming and discover its cultural significance.
Singing: Engage in the vibrant songs that accompany Sabar, exploring their meanings and history.

12-13:30 - Sabar Drumming & Song / International Guest Teachers Salif Dieng & Ndeye Thiam
13:45-15:15 - Sabar Dance (Contemporary/Modern Style) / International Guest Teacher Adja Yaccine
15:30-17:00 - Sabar Dance (Traditional & Working on Solos) / Bristol-based Dance Artist Batch Gueye

15-25 years old youth of African heritage, based in Bristol
Commitment: Attend Sabar Family workshops in Bristol and fill out evaluation questionnaires at three time points.
Ambassadorship: Support PR and outreach as a youth ambassador.
