Autumn Print Workshop Sessions
Join Sonja for a series of drop-in creative workshops as she supports participants to learn about a range of print-making techniques. These sessions are being delivered as part of Trinity's involvement in Our Freedom: Then & Now, a national programme exploring the notions of freedom, 80 years after the end of World War Two. Sonja will work with participants to create a large-scale art piece which will be shared in November, alongside an intimate poetry sharing, and a celebratory gig by Dovetail Orchestra.
Drypoint Etching
Thursday 18 Sept, 10.30am-1pm
Drypoint is an intaglio printmaking method. It involves scratching an image into plastic and cardboard plates with a variety of tools; these scratches then hold the ink, which you print onto paper by running it through the press. Sonja will guide you through the technique and help you explore variation in mark-making and inking.
Heat Press Fabric Printing
Wednesday 24 Sept, 10am-12 midday & 2-4pm
You will be cutting paper that has been coated with heat transfer ink and creating designs which can be heat pressed onto our fabric. This is a really satisfying and fun technique which creates a layered print that has a similar look to screen prints.
Big Carve - Lino carve & print
Saturday 4 Oct, 10am-12 midday & Sunday 5 Oct, 1-3pm
Work together to carve out a large central design, created by Sonja in response to collaborative work shared so far.
All sessions are free. Please contact Jen Farmer to reserve a space (or just turn up! ) Refreshments provided and bus travel support available on request - contact Jen Farmer on 0117 035 1200 / jen@trinitybristol.org.uk
