The Primrose Files: Sickle Cell Warriors
Along with Genomics England and Bristol African Caribbean Expo, the Bristol Haemoglobinopathy team are proud to present this patient and public involvement (PPI) event to announce the opening of the Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) study in Bristol.
Join them for this exciting film screening of The Primrose Files: Sickle Cell Warriors, a Bristol-made docufilm which features the voices of people with lived experience of sickle cell, whether they, or their friends and families are impacted by the condition or they are actively contributing to research and support efforts for sickle cell. Part two follows with the sickle cell community’s hopes for the potential opportunities that genomic research could bring for those with sickle cell and improve their quality of life.
Following the film screenings, a panel discussion will be available to talk about the research, treatments and the IBHO study. People living with sickle cell disorders will have the opportunity to register their interest in being involved with this study.
There will also be:
- Catering by Glen's kitchen
- Tea, coffee and soft drinks
- Popcorn for the film screening
Parking is available at the venue for a fee. Parking costs support the running of the Trinity Centre. Please pay on arrival, following the signage on site.
