All Dub Heads, Rastas & followers of Roots Music know The Disciples, named by legendary sound system operator Jah Shaka in the mid 80s, after they made exclusive dubplates for him, followed by 4 studio albums between '87 and '91. In 1991, The Disciples built the infamous BoomShakaLacka SoundSystem which ran until 1996. Since then, they have been prolific with their productions & remixes, selector Russ D has a collection second to none. The Mighty Disciples will be playing along side Surrey based Da Vinci Sound. Conceived by Knati P & Little B in 1996, Da Vinci Sound are a collective of Singers, Musicians, Producers & DJs (Knati P, Sista M, Ambassador, ThunderBall, Bones, Kashmir, The General Santana, Lickle plus Guests) from various genres, who have come together to produce, remix & DJ Roots inspired music. Da Vinci Sound is also responsible for the Production of the Reggae/Dub/Roots content on Kane FM 103.7.
Warming up the night will be Bristols very own Mark Dub, selector for The Dub Revolutionaries. The Trinity Centre is the place to be on 7th May if you like the heavy & deep style... To quote The Disciples "This is pure vibration rather than tone. Bass dynamics in all its possible ranges." Not to be missed!
