Natural Building Workshops
Mon 11th to Fri 15th & Mon 18th to Fri 22nd, 9.30am - 5pm
Following last year's roundwood timber framing, dry stone walling and roofing workshops, funded by Award for All (BLF), Trinity's Outdoor Kitchen it's looking to be finished by the end of March, to welcome the Spring in to our garden!
The finished kitchen will be accessible to the community all year round and will hopefully encourage individuals and groups from different ages and backgrounds to cook the food they grow in a shared space.
This time round, workshops will include: Strawbale walling * Earth bags (mesh bag) * Roundwood timber framing (mostly braces) * Earthen plastering and lime wash * Cob rocket stove * Tool sharpening * Joinery * Pallet walls with woodchip clay infill * Tree talk at (in Leah Woods or Westonbirt Arboretum) * Tour around some natural buildings
We'll have a fire, hot drinks and lunch but bring something to share with all!
This is a FREE course but we only have 5 places available.
The week before starting the workshops, 4th-8th March, we'll be collecting materials and getting the site ready. There will be 1 or 2 places to help with this. You can learn where to source materials for free or cheaply and what goes into preparing for a build.
