1625ip Fundraiser
Save Friday 28 March 7 - 11pm as a date for an alternative acoustic music fundraiser in aid of 1625ip!
1625 has been helping young people reboot their lives since 1983. They provide housing, life skills, confidence-building, education, training, jobs and fun for young people in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
The evening will be memorable a one as singer/songwriter Guy Malkerson launches his album “Folklore” recorded with independent record producer Jim Lang (Malcolm Middleton, My Latest Novel, Mona, Echo & The Bunnymen)in Glasgow late last year. Booked to put on an incredible show in support of 1625 will be Lonely Tourist, Mark McDowell and The Legendary Barry. Young People from 1625 will be preparing a special menu to help fundraise as part of the event.
Lonely Tourist is releasing his third album a bit earlier in March. His songs are well supported on Radio Six, especially his single the Ballad of Paul Tierney.
Mark McDowell’s frequent live sets feature material from 2013’s well-received three EPs ‘McDowell Chamber Union’, ‘Mark McDowell’, 'Drifter’ and his seven inch single ‘Girls of Belvoir’ released by Fruits Der Mer Records in November. Mark is also a singer/songwriter and guitarist with Bristol psych rock band Rauschenberg and a guitarist with The Radiant Sounds of Dust.
Onesy wearing balladeer The Legendary Barry will be entertaining with tunes off his release from last year, “A Lunchtime’s Work”. Listen out for Double Entendres and Big Society.
All this for a fiver (you can give more!)
Doors open at 7pm. Get there early to avoid disappointment.
