Eyes for Gertrude, Leila Fay, Bashema, Michael McNeil
Female duo who write full-hearted, unforgettable songs about real things. Piano pulsed, accordion tinged, guitar swooned songs shaped around captivating observations of the everyday (Morrissey listen up). Most remarkable is the coming together of their two voices - Chantelle Pike’s distinctive vocal (think Patsy Cline) is rife with deft melody and packed with heartbreaking turns and flourishes, while Hannah Dean sings like she’s from the same planet as Julee Cruise.
Leila Fay
19 year old singer-songwriter, who writes gripping piano songs of love and romance, drawing on her experiences and combining her incredibly pure, mesmerising vocal talent with addictive piano melodies.
She moved from Tokyo to the South West of the UK when she was only 15, and has been developing her sound ever since. Her debut EP ‘Another Time’ and is out now on iTunes.
Jelli Records Bashema will be performing an intimate but up-tempo set including
some of her much loved songs and a few new tunes from her forthcoming Album.
The young upstart has already seen impressive support slots with the likes of Chas and Dave, and Bristol's own guitar institution The Blue Aeroplanes. Other notable shows include a sell-out EP launch at the Thunderbolt, and an up-coming support slot with Rita Lynch for her album launch, where he will also be joining her as guest guitarist.
