Reggae Inna Space
Featuring film screening of The Upsetter: The Life And Music Of Lee Scratch Perry.
A celebratory tribute to Jamaican producer Lee Scratch Perry. The God father of dub pioneer is every bit as eccentric as other Afrofutrist legends Sun Ra & George Clinton, as Bristol's favourite reggae venue we've decided to pay tribute to Lee Scratch Perry and the music he has inspired.
On the night expect stunning visuals, screen and space dub fused spoken word on the night from:
Steven Duncan (Uk Slam Champion)
Nadine Bourne (Bristol Slam Champion)
Chloe Laing (Poet / Singer)
Edson Burton (Writer)
Presented as part of the Sci-fi Afrofuturism Season in partnership with Watershed and Film Hub South West & West Midlands.
Bridging music, art, literature and film, Afrofuturism is the black take on Sci-Fi, magical realism, and fantasy. Bristol's favourite reggae venue - that's us - are joining in with the Watershed Media Centre in celebrating Afrofuturism as part of Black History Month.
