Power to Change Photography Exhibition
Photographer Mark Simmons is famous for his warm, intimate and ground-breaking portraits of people living in some of Bristol’s most diverse communities.
His iconic Black and White Bristol collections documented life for residents during the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The powerful images reveal tight-knit communities coming together to fight political uncertainty and aggressive redevelopment and showcase an unwavering positivity and togetherness in areas including St Paul’s and Barton Hill.
For his latest work, Bristol 2019: A New Kind of Community, Mark has returned to many of these areas, to document a growing community business movement through the eyes of several of the city’s thriving community-run businesses including Bristol Bike Project, Barton Hill Settlement, We can Make at Knowle West, Windmill Hill City Farm, Southmead Development Trust, Arnos Vale Cemetery and Bristol Ferry Boats.
This exhibition will be open to the public from 28th November - 5th December, between 9am - 5pm. Please come to The Trinity Centre Reception to access the event.
