-
Stay positive - Think of every job as a process of elimination bringing you closer and closer to your dream job. No experience is pointless experience.
-
Make a list - Compile your list of complaints, dislikes and issues with your current situation and be specific – if it's because you aren't earning enough money, decide how much more you want to be comfortable.
-
Swot up - Do some research to identify occupations that match your interests and understand the climate.
-
Think outside the box - Think about what you want both in terms of your role and the organisation you would like to work for – sometimes you may find taking a role you're happy with in an organisation you might not have considered will make you happier than holding out for a job in a specific company or industry.
-
Talk to people - Speak to others doing the job you think you want and find out about their career path. Ask them about every job they've had. You will find that they may have had many jobs and started off their career doing something completely unrelated to what they're doing now, but it has shaped who they are as a person and taught them the values they need to do their current job.
