How we fund our charitable work

Charity info

What is Trinity's legal status? Trinity Community Arts (TCA) is a registered charity (no.1144770) and Limited Company (no.4372577) and is VAT registered (no.123388420).

When was Trinity founded? TCA began life as a community association in 2001 and registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee in 2002. In 2011 the organisation became a registered charity.

Who founded Trinity? TCA was founded by a group of activists. Original members included Kieran Doswell and Nick Fyfe (who Fyfe Hall is named after). Other members included Matthew Hewitt and Ryan Northey.

Who are Trinity’s board members? You can find details of our current Trustees and Directors on Companies House and via the Charity Commission website.

See the Board Biog section of our website for more info.

Funding

Where does Trinity get its funding? Trinity has a trading subsidiary that generates approximately 70% of our turnover from a commercial live music programme, private hall-hires and associated bar sales.

This is used to subsidise our charitable activities, fund repair and maintenance of the Trinity Centre, cover overheads and enable us to provide free and subsidised hall-space to grass-roots and local groups.

We receive project specific grants from trusts & foundations and Lottery grant funders to help us deliver our activities programme. See the What We Do area of our website for more info.

Is Trinity funded by Bristol City Council? Trinity receives a £30,000 grant from Bristol City Council Cultural Investment Programme (2024-26). We have also received support via Community Interest Levy (CIL) for capital works. We are a partner delivering community services with Eastside Community Trust, funded by the Bristol Impact Fund.

What do you need funding for? To repair and conserve the Trinity Centre for future generations; To deliver arts, community, education and heritage projects for those who need it most; To develop people's skills and enhance wellbeing; To provide free/subsidised space for grassroots and local groups.

How much has TCA invested in the building? Since 2007, TCA has invested over £3m in capital maintenance, repair and development of the Trinity Centre. This includes grants from Lottery sourcesel, landfill trusts and private trusts and foundations. Grants have been used to repair the historic fabric and renovate spaces so the Trinity Centre can continue to be accessible to all. See the Renovation area of our website for more information.

How can I donate?

Introduction

This page contains the Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) for the sale of tickets through Trinity's in house ticketing system. Please read these T&Cs carefully before ordering tickets and please understand that, by placing an order, you agree to be bound by our T&Cs.

Please appreciate that if you cannot accept our T&Cs then you will not be able to purchase tickets. Tickets for some events will be found through external ticketing sites; before purchasing a ticket, please read their T&Cs as Trinity is not responsible for third party ticket sales.

Ticket purchase

By purchasing a ticket, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age, and that you have the legal capability to enter into a binding contract.

You must comply with all rules and regulations of the event, including complying with relevant licensing and statutory laws; for example, relating age, drugs & alcohol restrictions.

By purchasing a ticket you certify that it is for personal use only. Tickets must not be re-sold and any resale will result in a cancellation of the ticket, without refund.

Check the details

It is your responsibility to check the details of the ticket and the event and to arrive at the event at the proposed time.

Trinity will not be held responsible for any non-admissions due to late entry or arrival past curfew. Please make sure you check the details of the event for information on timings.

It is your responsibility to inform us of any change to your contact address, telephone number or email address you provided us with at the time of ordering.

Purchase of multiple tickets

If purchasing multiple tickets in one purchase then all the people on the ticket must arrive at the event at the same time. Failing to do so may result in delayed, or refused entry. If this is not possible, please purchase tickets separately.

Variations to ticket price

Prices of tickets are subject to change, however once a ticket has been purchased, a change in the price of a ticket will not affect an order already processed.

In the event that a ticket is wrongly priced, if the price of the ticket is less than the price it has been sold for, Trinity will refund the difference paid by you. If the price of the ticket is higher than the price sold for, then we will contact you with instructions of what to do.

If you have purchased your ticket via a third party provider, you will need to contact them in regard to any ticket price changes, in line with their ticketing T&Cs.

Venue entry

Please bring your physical ticket or (if virtual ticket) the print-out of the e-ticket confirmation or be ready to display this confirmation on your phone, tablet or other electronic devise.

The Licensee and their delegates reserve the right to refuse ticket holders admission to the venue in reasonable circumstances. This could include, but are not exclusive to, the following: health and safety, public safety, crime and disorder potential breech of licensing reasons (i.e. age, intoxication) if a ticket is invalid (i.e. if any part is removed, altered or defaced) late admission (i.e. past curfew)

Trinity will not be held responsible for the non-admission and no refunds will be given to ticket holders who are refused entry or ejected due to their own behaviour or through breech of any licensing or statutory law.
We reserve the right to refuse and reject entry; in the case that admission could risk the safety and enjoyment of yourself and others.

Please note that Trinity operates a no re-entry policy.

Challenge 25

Trinity operates a Challenge 25 Policy - If you are lucky enough to look under 25 you will be asked to prove that you are aged 18 or over. In line with licensing law, we are only able to accept valid forms of ID.

Club nights are 18+ unless otherwise stated. Although we will use our best efforts to indicate any age or other restrictions, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they are eligible for entry to the event for which they are purchasing tickets.

Please contact the us if you have any questions about a particular event.

Cancelled events

While we will endeavour to inform you of any changes to the event, we cannot guarantee that you will be informed of such changes/cancellations before the date of the event.

Returns & refunds

Once the order has been approved, tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase, unless the event is cancelled.

Any refund for ticket(s) equals the price paid by you to us for such ticket, minus any transaction/booking fee and/or donation made at the point of purchase.

Refunds shall only be made to the person who purchased the Tickets and, when possible, be made using the same method.

In the event that the Trinity has over-sold an event, or in terms of reducing the allocation for any reason, which is down to Trinity's error, you will be entitled to a full refund.

If you have purchased your ticket via a third party provider, you will need to contact them in order to process any returns/refunds in line with their ticketing T&Cs.

How you can make use of the Trinity Centre and take part in our activities

A Centre for the People

We are open and accessible to all, with a particular focus on providing services to Easton, Ashley, Lawrence Hill and Old Market.

Each year, the Trinity Centre is used by over 60,000 people and we support hundreds of community groups and projects with over 4,000hrs of free and subsidised hall space.

Click here to read more about What We Do.

Arts for everyone

We believe in the personal, social and economic value; that art improves the well-being of individuals, empowers communities and enhances society. We work with over 1200 contemporary artists/performers annually; programming work resonating with local audiences and providing residencies to artists who deliver cultural learning activities for target groups, to increase engagement in the arts.

Affordable space

TCI provides free and subsidised hall space from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, to give individuals and groups space to run free activities, projects and events for the local community. This scheme is widely used by grass roots groups for meeting space, as well as small theatre and dance groups for rehearsal space.

See the Reaching Communities area of our website for more info.

Second chances

Trinity supports findings that when people leave prison, they are much less likely to re-offend if they have a home and a job. We provide a limited number of managed work placements each year, in partnership with Leyhill HMP, in order to help ensure people leaving prison have the best possible chances of reintegrating and contributing positively to society. See our Leyhill story for more info.

Learning for everyone

We run a regular programme of free music training programme for young people who have had difficult experiences. Our courses are free and can be accessed on a referral and self-referral basis (charges may apply to referral agencies.

See Youth Music for more info.

We also run free community and arts and heritage projects designed to bring people from the community together and improve well-being.

See What We Do for more info.

How do I find out about what's happening?

Everything we do is promoted via our own website, newsletters, brochures and flyers; posters displayed in our site and local area; editorial, advertising and listings in local publications and broadcast; social networking, listings websites and word of mouth channels.
