Rhythm of the Night is every last Thursday of the month.

Disco starts at 7.00pm

Bar open - please note you have to be over 18 to buy alcoholic drinks from our bar. You will be asked for an ID, so please bring one with you. Please ensure that transport is arranged for the end of the night.

Their latest single, Not Enough Time to Think, is a woozy long-distance love song, driven by an intense, impatient bass line and dreamy string intro. An unstoppable force, Cassia are due to release their new album, Why You Lacking Energy?, on the 15 July 2022.

But all went quiet for the band after this and they seemed to slide off the ends of the earth with nothing happening for over 10 years. Their rebirth was engineered in 2004 and the soldiers for poverty and righteousness arose from the ashes to drop 4 new albums ‘On the ground’, ‘Ghetto Feel’, ‘Son of Man’ and ‘Take it’. Their newest release was in 2021 ‘Take it Easy’.

They are once again performing delivering their conscious and uncompromising messages with harmonic vocals, backed by their unique deep melodic roots reggae rhythm.

Art of Resistance takeover - Heritage Lottery funded project exploring 100 years of activism in Bristol

  • 'Wordz of Resistance' - Raise the Bar, the South West's leading spoken word poetry event lead this workshop exploring the power of spoken word poetry as a weapon of resistance with a Hip Hop workshop led by Craft D and performances featuring two talented headline poets Deanna Rodger and Muneera Pilgrim. This workshop will also feature an open mic hosted by Saili Katebe.
  • 'Visions of Resistance' - Design and create a mural that captures Bristol's rich history of protest and depicts a vision for a better future. This workshop will explore elements of mural design such as collaging and print making as well as a discussion of the role of art in activism. Facilitated by Tanith Gould, an experienced mural artist part of Bristol Womxn's Collective.

After undergoing a series of operations and months of physiotherapy due to a hemorrhagic stroke, he is back in full force, defying medical expectations with his incredible positively. He has just released his new album, The Optimystic, which is an inspiring glimpse into the journey he has had over the last few years.  

Drake has received accolades including Rolling Stone’s 10 Country Artists You Need to Know, The Grammy’s Artist of Tomorrow, and the British CMA Awards’ International Song of the Year; as well as sharing the stage with Country music superstars like Luke Bryan, Eric Church and Zac Brown Band.

With Self Esteem’s recent sold-out gig and Wet Leg coming up (21 Apr), we thought we'd take a moment to reflect on some of the best acts who've played at Trinity on their breakthrough tours in the last few years.

Alt J (2012)

Indie pop makers Alt-J came to perform live to a sell-out crowd the day after they won the Mercury Prize for what was to be one of their last intimate gigs.

Ezra Collective (2019)

London jazz collective Ezra Collective fuse Afrobeat, Hip-Hop and Soul to create a distinct sound. Known for “pioneering the new-wave of UK jazz music” (Boilerroom) their sell-out gig was yet another sell-out in 2019.

Freddie Gibbs (2019)

American rapper Freddie Gibbs is known for his technical proficiency and provocative lyrics as well has two collaborations with critically acclaimed Madlib.

Loyle Carner (2019)

One of the most popular rappers to come out of the UK in recent years, Loyle Carner played here following the release of his second album ‘Not Waving, But Drowning’.

Mick Jenkins (2019)

American rapper Mick Jenkins had released two far reaching albums, The Healing Component (2016) and Pieces of a Man (2018) prior to playing to a very ecstatic hip-hop loving audience.

Kokoroko (2020)

London-based eight-piece musical group Kokoroko play a fusion of Jazz and Afrobeat and came to us just before Lockdown restrictions in Mar 2020. Despite this, they are making waves in the UK Nu-Jazz scene.

Joy Crookes (2021)

An essential new voice in the burgeoning UK Neo-Soul scene, Joy Crookes played an incredible sold-out show in November last year.

Self-Esteem (2022)

Hot off the press, we knew Self Esteem was going to be popular by early requests for press passes and how quickly it sold out. The crowd jumped to the performance of I Do This All The Time and we think this will be a gig that forges itself in many memories. We are sure this will be one of her last gigs playing to smaller crowds.

Yard Act (11 May)

Spearheaded by James Smith (vocals) and Ryan Needham (bass), the four-piece have built a sound that explores observations from all walks of modern British life.

Produced by Chris Seefried and featuring a stellar band including former Miles Davis pianist Deron Johnson, Lady's forthcoming album, Black Acid Soul, presents a wholly fresh take on the jazz vocal idiom. 2020 single, Blackbird, is a stirring interpretation of Nina Simone's powerful civil rights anthem. The track embodies passion, enthusiasm, and hope from an artist blessed with a bold, unmistakable voice.

The 18-piece, all star, big band create music that is both heavy and beautiful, pushing the boundaries of live hip hop. Abstract Orchestra explore original samples used in hip hop joints, orchestrated across the ensemble, masterfully reinterpreting the music of hip hop greats, such as J Dilla and MADVILLAIN.  The group have toured and recorded with the likes of MF DOOM, Slum Village, and Illa J and supported Yasiin Bey, Talib Kweli, and The Zulu Nation.

Taking influences from Quincy Jones, Lalo Schifrin, and David Shire, the arranger, Rob Mitchell sits somewhere between Madlib and Quincy Jones. With classic aspects of big band writing, a focus on improvisation, and mad respect for hip hop, this set is high-energy and high-octane head nods from start to finish.

Since its creation, the band has grown year after year into a 14-piece, unstoppable, dance floor monster. 2019 saw the band conquer festivals including Wilderness, Valleyfest, and Glastonbury with their unique take on 1920's jazz. Fusing live brass, keys, drums, digital hardware, and vocals, Dutty Moonshine deliver explosive bass music inspired by the big bands of days gone by.
