Waldo's Gift

Formed in Bristol in 2017, experimental trio, Waldo's Gift, have emerged as a new force on the UK jazz scene. Born out of their improvisatory residency at The Gallimaufry, the band quickly gained cult status in their hometown before achieving wider national attention; named 2020 Ones To Watch by Giles Peterson.

STANLÆY is the brain child and alter-ego of musician, producer, artist, and composer Bethany Clare Mistlebrook Stenning, where Bethany composes music both as a solo artist, and collaborating with other musicians / a live band to bring the music to a live environment. Fuelled by collaboration, landscapes (internal and external), cross-pollination and the synergy between the organic and the synthetic, Bethany is an unstoppable force of nature of multi-disciplinary form.

In just 3 short years, STANLÆY has evolved from a confused solitary musician perusing the streets of Paris to Bethany's role as a highly respected producer, composer and performer in Bristol. Her music has most recently appeared on BBC Radio 6, BBC Bristol, BBC Introducing in the West, RTE Radio, British Airwaves Next Big Thing, and been hailed by local press; described as "Joanna Newsom, Bjork and Janelle Monae wrapped into one woodland sprite." - Monolith Cocktail.

Young Echo

The eleven-strong Bristol collective of producers, vocalists & sonic provocateurs, create boundary pushing sound with elements of dub, bass, drone, grime, noise & techno all under one roof.

Young Echo protagonist is making waves in their own world, with releases on a spread of labels from Tectonic to Tri-Angle via Blackest Ever Black, as well as a fertile pool of in-house collaborations and offshoots including: Killing Sound, FuckPunk and Gorgon Sound.

Dubkasm

Dubkasm are comprised of childhood friends Digistep and DJ Stryda, who kicked off their dub project in the mid-90s before going on to launch their Sufferah's Choice label in 2003, to showcase their studio productions. Their 2009 debut album, Transform I, was a culmination of their work so far, collecting tracks from their previous 12-inches and including vocal turns from Dub Judah, Levi Roots and Afrikan Simba. A dub version of the entire record, along with a remix CD, completed the Transform I Trilogy in 2010.

We have worked with DJ Stryda for many years, hosting his Teachings In Dub nights and it is a pleasure to invite Dubkasm to play through these times, which are hard for anyone in the music industry.

Ashanti Selah

Musician / Dub Producer hailing from the UK, is the eldest son of the world-renowned soundman, Aba Shanti-I. Starting the mystical journey for his keen interest of playing music came from his early days of being exposed to the sound system culture, through his father and their musical infrastructure; also being a regular attendee at his father’s location in the Notting Hill Carnival and travelling with the sound system as a crew member to various sessions in the UK & Europe. As well as working on his own productions, Ashanti makes use of his musical abilities as a performer in various bands as a keyboardist and has had the pleasure of working and collaborating with a number of great singers, musicians & producers in the scene- such as: Vivian Jones, Mad Professor, Joe Ariwa, Ras Divarius, Alpha Steppa, Dan I Locks, Junior Roy, and  Ras Teo (just to name a few).

Drum roll please… We are ready to welcome you back music lovers! In a specially erected tent in the historic grounds of Trinity, we will be running weekend sessions throughout the Autumn and we cannot wait.

Trinity Presents Garden Sessions will run throughout October, launching its first weekend with Bristol's experimental trio Waldo’s Gift (Oct 16), Livity Sound's Hodge & Danielle (Oct 17), and Dubkasm meets Ashanti Selah (Oct 18).

With Saturday & Sunday being powered by Sinai Soundystem.

Hodge

With a critically acclaimed album "Shadows In Blue" released on Fabric’s Houndstooth label in early 2020 and a run of releases including revered collaborations with Laurel Halo, Peder Mannerfelt and Randomer, Hodge has quickly secured a unique position for himself in the UK's new school. Sitting on the edge of the more dystopian borders of Techno, Hodge's productions and DJ sets boast an unremitting sense of forward thinking energy and excitement which cannot be missed.

Danielle

Over the last few years Danielle has been playing all over the UK and Europe, and has been taking her canny blend of club and experimental music to some of the best parties around, including back home in Bristol, for the likes of Timedance and Livity Sound, and has played in some of the world’s best clubs, such as Golden Pudel in Hamburg, Fabric London, Griessmuhle in Berlin, and DC10 in Ibiza. Her sets feature an impressive range of genres, drawing from an informed selection of old school house cuts, to Electro, New Wave, EBM, UK Techno and beyond.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce that my tour of the UK and Ireland that was scheduled for May of this year can no longer take place. We have been working hard behind the scenes to try and reschedule the dates but due to the continued restrictions, uncertainty on public gathering and in the interest of public safety it has not been possible to do so. Please refer to your point of purchase for ticketing/refund information. Rhys Lewis has become synonymous with songs of heartbreak. His creativity has been unleashed on debut album "No Right To Love You". This album, released 3 and a half years after Rhys began releasing music, is a collection of incandescent offerings about failed love.
In a throwaway world, where anyone can make a pop song, Rhys chooses not to hide behind computers and modern production. Holding is songwriting and performance to rigorous standards.
Rhys is currently exploring new ways to create links with his fans, helping build fresh analogue connections in a digital world, and innovative methods of engaging with his fanbase despite the current circumstances. Rhys has been sending out personalised postcards and will expand on this in the weeks to come, showcasing new ways to help his followers explore their creativity and alleviate modern-day anxieties through art.

Extremely humble and obsessed with sound, the Icelandic musician takes his show on the road for a post-lockdown celebration.
