Listening Sessions: Goth-Trad
Listening Sessions is a new series that invites audiences to slow down, listen deeply, and uncover the political and cultural stories behind music. Each gathering pairs a guest artist with a theme, using vinyl records as a way into memory, meaning, and conversation.
For our opening night, pioneering Japanese producer and DJ Goth-Trad (Deep Medi Musik, Back To Chill) leads us through the theme of Conflict.
Known as “The Sound Originator”, Goth-Trad has spent over two decades reshaping electronic and bass culture across Japan and the UK. In this session, he will select records from his collection that speak to struggle, tension, and resistance, weaving together personal commentary, political context, and audience dialogue.
The experience is powered by the warmth and clarity of the Firmly Rooted Soundsystem, creating space to hear each track in full and reflect on what the music stirs up, personally and collectively.
Vinyl, stories, and conversation: a new series where music meets meaning.
Keep an eye out for the full series dropping soon...
